Hi, I’m Satoko Abe — a health coach and speaker based in the historic town of Kamakura, Japan. I help people feel healthier, lighter, and more energized by changing what they eat and how they live — grounded in nutritional science and more than a decade of experience in food and nutrition, which I now share through private coaching, group programs, and seminars.

My story

About fifteen years ago, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. I took medication for a year, but I was worried about the side effects, so I decided to stop and look for another way.

I changed three things: what I ate, how I thought, and the environment I lived in. Within a year and a half, my symptoms had improved. Along the way, the adult acne I’d had for years cleared up, my belly flattened, I stopped catching colds so easily — and above all, I felt full of energy.

That experience became my life’s work. Since then, my coaching and seminars have reached thousands of people, in Japan and internationally.

How I work

I work with people who want more out of their days — steadier energy, clearer thinking, and a happier life. Some are entrepreneurs, executives, and leaders; many are simply people who are tired of feeling tired. I have also supported athletes with targeted guidance as they work toward their peak.

My approach is built on nutrition, not on one cuisine. I worked for five years under a Ph.D. nutrition scientist, spent more than a decade in the nutrition and organic food industry — including as Vice President of an organic and natural food company — and I follow where global nutrition research is heading. Traditional Japanese foods — miso and other fermented staples — have a place in what I teach. They are one good tool among many.

Ten years of living abroad — the U.S., Singapore, the UAE, and Oman — and home again in Japan: five countries in all. They showed me how differently the world eats — and how often good advice falls apart outside a perfect week. A plan has to survive a business trip and jet lag, a dinner that starts at ten o’clock after back-to-back meetings, a family who wants something else for dinner, and a supermarket that, depending on where in the world you live, simply doesn’t stock the ingredient a recipe calls for.

That is the part I work on with you: how to keep your meals simple in a busy life and still give your body everything it needs. You don’t have to eat less — eat more of the right things, and your energy follows, and so does your sleep, and so does the next day. I believe food creates your life and your future.

What I believe

Food

Food is the foundation. Real, whole food that nourishes your body and keeps your energy steady — built around your life, not a rulebook.

Mind

How you think shapes how you feel. Small daily rituals and a little self-kindness are what make change last.

Environment

What surrounds you adds up — the water you drink, the air you breathe, the chemicals in your skincare and body care. You can work on things you can’t even see.
